About Us

Rehabilitation and Conditioning for Animals is the community-based practice of Deborah Carroll, CCRP (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner), and is subject to guidelines overseen by the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners ( www.tbvme.state.tx.us ) and therefore must be under general veterinary supervision.

This means I will work in collaboration with your regular veterinarian or veterinary specialist , reporting to them and working with them toward your pets' improved health.  I will not proceed with treatment unless I have a veterinarian with whom I may confer about the case and one who is familiar with the animal.  If you would like a local referral to a vet near you, feel free to contact me. A veterinarian may easily refer to me by calling me or by faxing a filled out referral form to me or even by having you call me. I will often touch base with your vet prior to making the rehab appt. with you if your vet has directed you to call me and it is a complicated case.

Hi! I'm Deborah and I have been a small animal rehabilitation practitioner since 2005.  I have more than 30 years' experience in sport training, sports nutrition, sport injury rehab, coaching, and clinical nutrition.  I have previously worked with world class athletes in several different sports.  I currently actively weight train and train for triathlons.  I have recently recovered well from two major surgeries and have overcome some systemic medical conditions independently and with the aid of the medical community.   From Dec. 2004 through Dec. 2006, I worked at Central Texas Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Austin, starting and building the rehabilitation and conditioning department.  At the beginning of 2007 I became a mobile rehabilitation practitioner, going into people's homes and working with animals in their home environment.  With this service, many more owners are able to see their pet benefit from rehab intervention.

For other info, like suggested reading, rehab protocol & recommendations blog, links to many other groups, and photos of pet patients, please see my other site @ www.myspace.com/austinanimalrehab

Tambien yo puedo discutir sobre rehabilitacion en espanol.
